Circle of the African Moon Tradition
The CAM Tradition recognizes the uniqueness of the South African Wiccan movement. It encapsulates this by drawing upon its own ‘legend’. (‘Legend’ in this context means the specific eclectic evolvement of the praxis of the modern craft movement in South Africa since the establishment of the public Pagan movement.)
The CAM Tradition is a useful structure for self-actualisation - from the neophyte to the adept level. The CAM Tradition is magicko-wiccanesque in content, context, essence, magickal and mystical experience, with demonstrable outcomes per degree. These outcomes may be likened to year marks (both practical and theoretical) at any tertiary educational institution.
The uniqueness, eclecticism, current history, and evolvement of the South African Wiccan/Pagan scene will be captured and reflected in a collection of essays, papers and thesis’, as well as encapsulated in public and private group ritual to be kept in a separate Book of Shadows for such purposes, as per each degree syllabus requirement.
The CAM Tradition draws heavily from the rich South African Black African/Tribal Paganism/magickal inheritance and consciousness. It is equally indebted to the shift from the pre-apartheid era to the post. CAM is not a tradition that denies the political and socio-economic climate it has evolved from, and recognises that responsible and whole human beings are a product of their daily environment whilst at the same time shifting the necessary consciousness.
